The offender is described as being white, in his late 30s or early 40s and of thin build.
Officers believe the man may have been in the smoking area of the pub before following the victim into the toilets.
"We are carrying out enquiries in the local area and checking CCTV and we are really keen to hear from anyone that could help us with the investigation."
