A 14-year-old girl hanged herself in Bangalore after her Facebook boyfriend rejected her marriage proposal.
Manoj, a second-year BCom student, apparently began talking to the girl, Shikha, in September.
He had apparently attempted to impress Shikha with claims that he could "drive like a Formula One racer and ride his motorcycle like a Hollywood star."
The youth then apparently forced Shikha into a physical relationship when they met.
But when she touched the topic of marriage,Manoj laughed her off saying he hadn’t been serious.
Shikha then commited suicide by hanging herself while her parents were at work.
The boy has been arrested and booked for rape and abetment to suicide.
